2. WHAT IS THE AFRICAN WEATHER LIKE?

ZIMBABWE

June, July & August – Be sure to pack warm winter clothes because morning game drives in open vehicles will be cold. The average morning temperature is 6°C/43°F. Afternoons will be more pleasant with temperatures around 25°C/77°F. Parks at lower altitude will be warmer.
November is the hottest month in Harare with an average temperature of 72°F (22°C) and the coldest is July at 55°F (13°C) with the most daily sunshine hours at 11 in October.

SOUTH AFRICA

Here, the climate is mild, with average daytime temperatures around 15 °C (59 °F) in winter and around 20 °C (68 °F) in summer, even though rapid increases in temperature may occur when the wind blows from the desert, which lies to the east and is scorchingly hot in summer.The coldest days are around June–August.

BOTSWANA

The seasons in Botswana are indistinct. Rains generally start in October or November and persist through to March or April. Within that period there may be long dry spells.Dry season May to October – Winter
May – The temperatures are relatively cool, typically 10°C/50°F in the morning and 28°C/80°F in the afternoon. June, July & August – Be sure to pack winter clothing because morning game drives will be cold. The average morning temperature is 6°C/42°F.

NAMIBIA

Namibia has two seasons, summer November to April also known as the rainy season and winter May to October also known as the dry season.During the months December to March it is generally hot throughout the country. The main rainy season starts in January No more precipitation is received except in the far south – in the winter rain areas and during the day temperatures are moderate to warm.

Most campsites have laundry areas  available,be it do it yourself for a fee or sent to be done for a fee.

4. WHAT KIND OF CLOTHING SHOULD I BRING?

  • In the summer, bring light, cotton, easy to dry clothing.
  • In the winter, you will want to bring a fleece jacket and wool hat.
  • colors such as khaki, beige and green are best.

5. WHAT ARE THE LUGGAGE RESTRICTIONS ON MY AFRICAN TRIP?

We highly recommend you avoid hard cases, and try and use duffel bags for safety, comfort and convenience.

8. WHEN IS THE BEST TIME OF THE YEAR TO VISIT AFRICA?

The best time to visit Southern Africa’s parks is from April to September. This is the Dry season and animals congregate around waterholes and rivers. As in winter (June, July), mornings and nights are cold, the wildlife viewing is excellent.

9. WILL MY DIETARY REQUIREMENTS BE MET DURING MY TRIP?

We highly recommend you let us know well in advance or during the consultation/booking process. This goes for allergies too.

10. WHAT IS THE RIGHT TIP OR GRATUITY?

Tips and Gratuities are discretionary, however it is customary to tip 10% of the check or total bill. With regards to guides and concierge staff, it is always good to go with how you feel and what you can afford.

11. CAN I DRINK TAP WATER DURING MY TRIP?

Although tap water is generally clean, we recommend that you drink bottled water during your entire trip.
