Terms And Conditions for Booking Safari

1. Your Reservation

Your safari reservation is confirmed once we have received the required deposit and issued written confirmation.

All bookings remain subject to the availability of accommodations, charter aircraft, and other travel services at the time of confirmation.

2. Deposit & Confirmation

To secure your safari, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required within seven (7) days of receiving your confirmation invoice.

Reservations made within one hundred twenty (120) days of departure require full payment upon confirmation.

3. Final Payment

The remaining balance is payable 90 days prior to your arrival.

Failure to receive payment by the due date may result in cancellation of your booking and the application of cancellation charges.

4. Pricing

All quotations are provided in United States Dollars (USD) unless otherwise stated.

Our prices are based on current accommodation rates, charter flight costs, park fees, conservation levies, government taxes, fuel costs, and exchange rates applicable at the time your quotation is prepared.

Should any of these costs increase prior to final payment, Bushbound Africa Safaris reserves the right to adjust pricing accordingly. Every effort will be made to minimize such increases, and guests will be advised promptly should adjustments become necessary.

5. What's Included

Unless otherwise stated in your itinerary, your safari includes:

• Accommodation as specified
• All meals while on safari
• Internal scheduled and charter flights listed in the itinerary
• Airport and lodge transfers
• Professionally guided safari activities
• Game drives, walking safaris, boating, canoeing and other included experiences
• National Park entrance fees and conservation levies
• Government taxes where applicable
• Laundry services where provided by participating lodges
• Meet-and-greet services
• Bottled water during transfers
• The services of a dedicated Bushbound Africa Safari Host or Programme Director where advertised

6. What's Not Included

Unless specifically noted, your safari excludes:

• Premium wines, champagne and imported spirits
• Spa treatments
• International airfare
• Passport and visa fees
• Comprehensive travel insurance
• Vaccinations and medical expenses
• Optional activities
• Personal purchases
• Telephone charges
• Gratuities
• Excess baggage charges
• Expenses arising from delays beyond our control

7. Travel Documentation

Guests are responsible for ensuring that they possess:

• A passport valid for at least six (6) months beyond their travel dates
• Sufficient blank passport pages
• All required visas
• Any required vaccination certificates

Bushbound Africa Safaris cannot accept responsibility for travel disruptions resulting from incomplete or invalid travel documentation.

8. Travel Insurance

Because many of our safaris visit remote wilderness areas, comprehensive travel insurance is compulsory.

Your policy should include:

• Emergency medical treatment
• Medical evacuation
• Trip cancellation
• Trip interruption
• Personal accident
• Baggage loss or delay
• Personal liability

We strongly recommend arranging insurance immediately after confirming your booking.

9. Health & Fitness

Our itineraries may include walking safaris, canoe excursions, boat transfers, charter flights and activities in remote wilderness areas.

Guests should ensure they are medically fit for the itinerary booked and should inform Bushbound Africa Safaris of any medical conditions, mobility concerns or dietary requirements before travel.

10. Charter Flight Baggage

Most safari aircraft operate under strict weight limitations.

Unless otherwise advised:

• Maximum luggage allowance: 20 kg (44 lbs) per guest, including hand luggage.
• Soft-sided duffel bags are required.

Bushbound Africa Safaris cannot accept responsibility for baggage refused by charter operators due to weight or size restrictions.

11. Hosted Safaris

Departures are personally accompanied by a Bushbound Africa Programme Director.

Their role is to oversee every aspect of the journey, coordinate logistics, provide continuity throughout the safari, and ensure that guests receive an exceptional level of personalized service.

12. Changes Requested by Guests

Requests to amend confirmed bookings will be accommodated wherever possible but remain subject to supplier availability and may incur amendment fees.

13. Cancellation by the Guest

All cancellations must be received in writing. Cancellation charges are calculated from the date written notification is received.

Certain lodges, private villas, charter operators and exclusive-use properties may apply stricter cancellation terms.

14. Changes by Bushbound Africa Safaris

Every effort will be made to operate itineraries exactly as published.

However, wildlife movements, weather conditions, aviation requirements, conservation regulations and operational considerations occasionally require adjustments.

Where necessary, Bushbound Africa Safaris reserves the right to substitute accommodation, aircraft, guides or activities with alternatives of a comparable or higher standard whenever reasonably possible.

15. Wildlife Experiences

Africa's wildlife is entirely wild and unpredictable.

While our experienced guides maximise opportunities for exceptional sightings, specific wildlife encounters can never be guaranteed.

Guests are required to follow all safety instructions issued by guides, camp staff and pilots at all times.

16. Force Majeure

Bushbound Africa Safaris shall not be liable for delays, alterations or cancellations arising from events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, severe weather, pandemics, government restrictions, airline disruptions, civil unrest, border closures or other force majeure events.

Where possible, we will work diligently with our partners to offer suitable alternatives.

17. Liability

Bushbound Africa Safaris carefully selects experienced accommodation providers, transport companies, airlines, guides and activity operators.

While we take great care in arranging your journey, these services are provided by independent suppliers.

Bushbound Africa Safaris shall not be liable for injury, illness, loss, damage, delay, inconvenience or additional expenses arising from the acts or omissions of third-party suppliers or events beyond our reasonable control, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.

18. Photography & Marketing

With your permission, photographs or video footage captured during your safari may be used by Bushbound Africa Safaris for promotional purposes.

Guests who prefer not to appear in marketing materials are kindly requested to advise us in writing before departure.

19. Guest Feedback

Should any aspect of your safari fall below expectations, we encourage you to notify your Safari Host or Programme Director immediately so that every reasonable effort can be made to resolve the matter during your journey.

20. Privacy

Bushbound Africa Safaris respects your privacy.

Personal information supplied during the booking process will be used solely for arranging your travel, fulfilling legal obligations, communicating with you regarding your safari and improving our services. We do not sell or disclose your personal information except where necessary to deliver your travel arrangements or where required by law.

21. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by the laws of the country in which Bushbound Africa Safaris is legally registered, unless mandatory consumer protection laws require otherwise.

22. Acceptance

Confirmation of your booking and payment of the required deposit constitute acceptance of these Booking Terms & Conditions.
